This article is about recycled boat made from
two big pieces of packaging foam
of a electric saucepan.
Figure 1: Boat in the water
I placed an old computer fan inside.
This is the video of my boat in the lake:
Step 1: Make the Boat
The computer fan motor was not working.
Thus I connected a powerful 12 V motor to
the computer fan propeller.
Figure 2: Front View.
I connected the two big foam pieces with thick pencils
and thin insulated metal wire:
Figure 3: Back view.
The fan is controlled via remote control.
I used eight D batteries to power
a 12 V computer fan.
Figure 4: Boat with battery harnesses.
I also used eight AA batteries to power the
relay remote control circuit.
I could have used the same power supply for the
fan motor and the remote control circuit. However,
I was worried that the relay signal surges might
interfere with the receiver circuit.
Step 2: Testing
You can see additional video of my boat in the lake:
Conclusion
The motor did not spin fast enough and the boat was not moving because the propeller was generating enough wind.
